valve. This allows the circulation of fluids, such as liquids or gases, to be controlled by switching the coil on or off. It consists of a body, which includes the connection for fixing it, the passage orifice through which the fluid passes according to the positioning of the plunger, and a coil placed on the tube and screwed onto the body. Inside this tube there is a valve, a spring and a phase shift ring, present according to the supply voltage of the coil. A diaphragm is present on the types of solenoid valves with power control as well as with mixed control. There are three types of solenoid valves. The first, with direct control, this will have a change in positioning of the valve following the supply of the coil, which will allow the fluid to pass or block, depending on the choice of function. The second, with assisted control, this will require the change of two parameters so that the fluid passes or not, according to the choice of the function. It will be necessary to have a change in positioning of the valve from the start of the supply of the coil as well as the membrane. A minimum fluid pressure is required at the inlet of the connection. Finally, the solenoid valve with mixed control is a combination of solenoid valves with direct control and power control. Here, the valve is mechanically linked to the membrane. There will be a change in the positioning of the valve and the diaphragm from the start of the coil supply. The response time is greater than that of the direct operated solenoid valve. The solenoid valves are defined by the symbols 2/2 which indicate 2 channels / 2 positions and 3/2 which indicate 3 channels / 2 positions. They can also be defined by the N.F. and N.O. functions, which means Normally Closed and Normally Open without supplying the coil. With the 3/2 symbol the universal function can also be used: normally closed, normally open, or mixer function (2 inputs – 1 output) or selector function (1 input – 2 outputs).
